The population of China had been stagnated from 1840 to 1949. For the hundred years of humiliation, the population of China virtually did not grow; however, the population doubled under Mao in just a quarter of a century. That’s a big save of lives.

The life expectancy of the Chinese in China increased huge and fast during the Mao era.
