Q: What do you think of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi holding a phone call with his Iranian counterpart to “coordinate with Iran on international and multilateral occasions”?

A:

Persia had a very good trade relationship with China since ancient times. For example, Guangzhou has a Huaisheng Mosque.

Many Persian Muslim businessmen were residents of Guangzhou in ancient times, for the trade of silk, tea, and porcelain. Now the mosque is in downtown Guangzhou. Yet in ancient times, the area was the coastline and a seaport.

We should welcome every country to make friends with other countries, including the Sino-Iranian relationship. If every country is the friend of all other countries, we will have a peaceful world.

Iran and China are victims of imperialism. If they coordinate on international and multilateral occasions, they probably will team up to protect their sovereignty. The US and its allies are using “human rights” and “democracy” to interfere with their domestic affairs, that’s one thing of their mutual concern.

Both of them need a peaceful international environment for the development of the economy. Yet the US keeps interfering with military projection in the area surrounding these two countries. The cooperation between China and Iran is good for the two countries and good for the peace of the world.
